Learning to Learn
It is amazing how fast the world around us can change. Especially the learning environment. New techniques and technology can completely alter the curriculum we deliver. In our program, we do a lot of drafting/layout, pencil to paper style. AutoCAD is old software that has been around for ages. We are now slowly integrating it into the school curriculum. As instructors we need to stay on top of the all the changes happening in our industry. We are always being sent to get specialized training in new areas of the trade, on new technology, and on new techniques. We need to be open minded to these new ways that may be unfamiliar to us. Being passionate about learning is a must. If you lack the passion, you lack the desire to learn. Here is great Ted talk on learning to learn.
